Product Description

HISTORY

HEATHERGEM

Heather, the evergreen plant, covers the mountains of Scotland making the scenery look purple. Heathergem jewellery is made up of the stems of the heather plant dyed different colours and moulded to-gether.  No two pieces are alike.

CHARLES RENNIE MACINTOSH

(7 June 1868 – 10 December 1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist.  Most of his iconic buildings are found in his home city, Glasgow, Scotland, including the Glasgow School of Art, The Willow Tea Rooms, Queen's Cross Church and Hill House at Helensburgh. Along with his beloved wife Margaret MacDonald he produced many iconic designs in particular the stylised rose found on many gifts sold to-day.

His work influenced the Secessionist and Art Nouveau movement in Europe and the Arts and Craft movement in Britain and latterly the art Deco movement.
